Scutched Flax
Scutched flax is the cleaned flax fiber obtained after the retted flax straw is broken and scutched to remove the woody shive and other non-fibrous material. The process separates the valuable flax fibers while preserving their natural strength, length, and structure, making scutched flax suitable for premium spinning.
